Ontario electricity consumers who produce some or all of their own electricity may take advantage of Ontario's Net Metering initiative.
Net metering allows you to send excess electricity generated by your solar array to the electricity grid in exchange for credits that are applied toward your monthly energy costs. In essence, it's a “trade” of the electricity you supply against the electricity you consume.
