Net Metering Program
Net Metering Program
What is net metering?
Electricity consumers in Ontario who generate some of their own power from a renewable source may take advantage of the “net metering” initiative.
Net metering allows you to send excess electricity generated by the solar array to the distribution system for a credit toward your future energy costs.
How it works?
Once you’re connected to the distribution system, your local distribution company will install a bi-directional meter that accurately records the production and consumption. What you’ll see on your bill is the “net” difference between these two amounts.
If you supply more power than what you take from the grid over the billing cycle, you’ll receive a credit toward future energy bills. The credit may be carried forward for up to 12 months.
Applying these credits over a 20 year Net Metering contract period will not only lock in a much lower electricity rate, but will also pay for the solar system itself.
By analyzing your hydro bills to determine the annual electricity consumption, we can design a solar generation system that meets your goals . Together with detailed financial projections, you will discover how a solar energy solution will truly empower your organization.
With electricity prices in Ontario forecasted to rise 42% in the next 20 years, more and more consumers are deploying solar energy systems to dramatically reduce or eliminate their electricity costs.
